AND THE MOST EFFICIENT WAY OF DOING THAT IS TO TAKE IT INTO THE SOUTHEASTERN PORTION OF THE CITY LIMITS AND ETJ UM, ONE COMPONENT OF OUR WATER PLAN IS WHAT IS TO SELL WATER DIRECTLY TO MUD 1 62. IN 2009, THERE WAS A GROUNDWATER REDUCTION PLAN AGREEMENT WITH THE MUD THAT ALLOWS US TO SELL THEM WATER AT SOME POINT IN THE FUTURE. UH, THE CITY'S WATER PLANT ALSO INCLUDES THE CONSTRUCTION OF A MAJOR 16 INCH WATER LINE. THAT YELLOW LINE TO THE BOTTOM OF THAT IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION TODAY, WHICH WILL CONNECT TO A EXISTING 16 INCH WATERLINE IN COPELAND ROAD. AND IT GOES ACROSS THE FRONT OF 1 62. AND THEN THERE'S ONE MORE YELLOW SECTION OF LINE THAT WILL BE BUILT BY FORT BEND COUNTY AS THEY BUILD IMPROVEMENTS TO COPELAND ROAD THAT CONNECTS IT TO AN EXISTING LINE THAT GOES ALL THE WAY TO 2218 SERVING MUD 2 33, 2 32, AND 1 47. SO BEING ABLE TO COMPLETE THIS LOOP WILL ALLOW US TO PUT THE SURFACE WATER INTO THIS PART OF TOWN AND USE IT EFFECTIVELY. UH, THE CONTRACT BASICALLY CALLS FOR FIVE MASTER METERS TO BE SET UP BETWEEN US AND THE, AND THE MUD. AND WE'LL BUILD THE MUD FOR THOSE USAGE TO THOSE MASTER METERS. THROUGH OUR PARTNERSHIPS, THE ROSENBERG FOOTBALL CLUB HOSTED A SOCCER TOURNAMENT, UM, IN DECEMBER, ROSENBERG, NATIONAL LITTLE LEAGUE HOSTED TWO STATE TOURNAMENTS, UH, FOR LITTLE LEAGUE. UH, WE CONTINUED PARTNERSHIPS WITH FORT BEND ART LEAGUE, FORT BEND MUSEUM TO DISPLAY ARTWORK AND HISTORICAL DISPLAYS AT THE CIVIC CENTER. AND WE'VE INSTALLED TWO NEW MURALS IN HISTORIC DOWNTOWN THAT ARE, UM, ROAD SCENES FROM THE 18 HUNDREDS. AND WE ALSO ADDED AN 1883 SIGN AT WATER TOWER SQUARE. OUR GOALS, UM, AND THINGS WE LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT YEAR'S CONTINUED GROWING OUR RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR ALL AGES. FINALIZE PLANS AND SECURE FUNDING FOR SEABORN CREEK NATURE CENTER. CONTINUE HOSTING AND ATTRACTING REGIONAL SPORTS TOURNAMENTS. UM, COMPLETE DESIGN AND BEGIN CONSTRUCTION OF SEABORN CREEK IMPROVEMENTS, INCLUDING THE ENTRANCE ROAD, ADDITIONAL PARKING, AND ADDITIONAL SPORTS FIELDS. AND PLAN FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MASTER, UM, I'M SORRY, PARK MASTER PLAN IMPROVEMENTS. GOAL SIX WE'RE ALMOST THERE IS TO PROVIDE WISE STEWARDSHIP OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO MEET CURRENT AND FUTURE SERVICE DEMANDS AND OBLIGATIONS. UM, THIS PAST YEAR, WE MAINTAINED THAT NOT ONE SOURCE OF REVENUE IS MORE THAN 50%. WE SUBMIT AND RECEIVE MULTIPLE GRANTS. UH, WE ADOPTED THE FY 26 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN, INCLUDING MAJOR INVESTMENTS IN WATER, WASTEWATER INFRASTRUCTURE, STREET RE, REHABILITATION PARK ENHANCEMENTS. ALL OF THAT TOTALED OVER $12 MILLION FROM CITY AND RDC PROJECTS. WE COMPLETED THE FY 24 AUDIT, UM, ON TIME WITH UNMODIFIED CLEAN OPINION, AND WE RECEIVED A DISTINGUISHED BUDGET AWARD IN THE COMING YEAR. WHEN WE FOUND HER, SHE WAS, AS YOU CAN TELL, SKIN AND BONES, UM, COVERED IN SKIN INFECTIONS. SO WE DID HAVE TO GET HER TO YVETTE ASAP AND THEN WENT STRAIGHT TO A FOSTER HOME. AND SHE'S SINCE BEEN, UM, UM, BEEN, UM, SHE'S READY FOR ADOPTION ESSENTIALLY, AND LOOKING FOR HER OWN, FOR HER OWN FAMILY TO CALL OMAR OF, FORGIVE ME FOR INTERRUPTING, BUT WAS THAT TURNED OVER TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT? YES. OKAY, GOOD. THAT DOG IS REALLY SKINNY. THAT IS SO WRONG. MM-HMM . ANYWAYS, SENIOR SEPTEMBER, UM, FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER, WE HAD MANY SENIOR DOGS COME INTO THE SHELTER AS WELL. UM, THIS IS VERY STRANGE FOR US. WE DON'T EVER GET THAT MANY ALL AT THE SAME TIME, BUT WE DID HAVE QUITE A FEW THAT CAME IN. BUT WITH HEAVY PROMOTION AND REACHING OUT TO OUR RESCUE PARTNERS, [01:50:01] WE WERE ABLE TO FIND HOMES FOR ALL OF THE, ALL OF THESE THAT WE HAVE RIGHT NOW, UH, THAT ARE PICTURED. BUT WE DO HAVE A COUPLE THAT ARE STILL WAITING FOR THEIR, THEIR HOMES AS WELL. GRANT MONEY AT WORK HERE IS A, UM, ANOTHER DOG THAT WE HAD TO GET TO A VET AND GET ALL FIXED UP WITH SOME HIP ISSUES. THIS IS ACTUALLY THE THIRD DOG THAT WE HAD WITH SEVERE ORTHOPEDIC PROBLEMS THAT WE'VE HAD TO USE GRANT MONEY IN ORDER TO FIX THEM ALL UP AND GET 'EM READY FOR ADOPTION. WE'VE HAD MULTIPLE AMPUTATIONS, HIP SURGERIES AND, UM, REPAIRS THAT THEY'VE NEEDED IN ORDER TO BECOME FULLY ADOPTABLE. AND ANOTHER CRUELTY CASE THAT WE HAD BACK IN SEPTEMBER WAS THE CASE OF LOLA AND HER BABIES. AS YOU CAN SEE THERE ON THE LEFT, SHE WAS IN A TINY LITTLE KENNEL WITH HER FRESHLY BORN BABIES AND IN THE, THE SUMMER HEAT, 'CAUSE YOU KNOW, SEPTEMBER IS STILL VERY HOT HERE. THE DOGS WERE ALL TRANSPORTED TO THE VET IMMEDIATELY. UH, LUCKILY ALL THE PUPPIES SURVIVED AS WELL, BUT SHE HAS SINCE BEEN ADOPTED, UH, ONE OF OUR VERY LONG-TERM, UH, VOLUNTEERS AND DOG IS LIVING IT'S BEST WIFE. OMAR, SORRY TO INTERRUPT. YES, SIR. MOST OF THOSE DO COME STRAIGHT FROM THE FIELD, UM, WITH OUR OFFICERS PICKING THEM UP. AND FOR OUTCOMES, WE HAD 79 TOTAL OUTCOMES. 34 DOGS, 42 CATS, AND THREE OTHERS WENT OUT INTO THE WORLD. WE ONLY HAD THREE KITTENS OR THREE ANIMALS THAT PASSED OVER THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER. ONE KITTEN DIED FROM FAILURE TO THRIVE. ONE WAS EUTHANIZED FOR SEVERE ORGAN FAILURE AND ONE DOG WAS ALSO EUTHANIZED FOR SEVERE ORGAN FAILURE AS WELL. AND WITH THOSE OUTCOMES, WE HAD A TOTAL LIVE RELEASE RATE OF 96% FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER 97 FOR DOGS, 95 FOR DOGS, AND THEN A HUNDRED FOR EVERYTHING ELSE. WE DID GO OUT TO 77 DISPATCH FIELD ASSIGNMENTS. FOUR CASES OF BIKE CASES WERE INVESTIGATED, BUT THOSE WERE ALL, AGAIN, IN PUBLIC, NOT IN THE SHELTER. WE DID INVESTIGATE TWO CRUELTY CASES, THREE ADOPTION EVENTS, AND THEN 11 SURRENDER DENIALS. ALL OF THOSE BEING OWNER SURRENDERS. AND THAT IS IT FOR SEPTEMBER. QUICK QUESTION, HOW MUCH WAS THAT HIP REPLACEMENT ON THAT, UH, GRANT FOR THE, THAT ANIMAL? UH, WITH ONE OF OUR PARTNERING VETS. SO OBVIOUSLY SURGERIES LIKE THAT ARE MORE SPECIALIZED, SO IT'S VERY HARD TO FIND A VET WITHIN THE AREA THAT'S GOING TO DO THAT FOR US. UH, BUT NVC RICHMOND, WHICH IS UM, OFF OF I GUESS BEL AIR THERE AND, AND BY 99 UHHUH, THEY WORK WITH US VERY CLOSELY. THEY ACTUALLY GIVE US VERY GOOD DEALS ON THESE, THESE SURGERIES. YEAH. UH, BUT THAT SURGERY CAN RUN ANYWHERE IN THE REAL WORLD ABOUT FOUR TO $5,000. WE GOT THAT FOR A FRACTION OF THE COST. AND WE ACTUALLY SAVED A LITTLE MORE ON A SECOND ONE. UH, WE HAD A DOCTOR THAT WAS LEARNING A LOT ABOUT THIS KIND OF SURGERY AND THEY WERE, THEY WERE ALSO HELPING US OUT WITH THOSE CHARGES AS WELL. AND SO WE SHOULD BE THANK YOU.
